Walks, fun and porridge

Acorns started ‘Walk to School’ week off with a lovely stroll to the local park where some of us were experiencing the joys of a local park for the very first time.

Later on in the week, we were looking at sequencing familiar activities and following instructions in order. As we were reading ‘Goldilocks and the Three Bears’, naturally we made porridge and got to eat the fruits of our labour! What was quite amusing is that the children were using the story language without even realising…… “Miss Mockford, this porridge is too hot!”

Making soup

For our continued learning on ‘Little Red Riding Hood’ this week, we were looking at instructions. We made soup for Red Riding Hood’s sick grandma and then ordered how to make the soup. We had great fun using the kitchen and tasting the soup before we sent it to grandma.
