We enjoyed dancing with our grown ups on Monday and Zumba on Tuesday!
A pirates life for me!
In Cherry Class we looked at the importance of only leaving kind comments. We created pictures of our favourite things about school. We then left comments on our friends pictures.
We received a letter from a pirate called Captain Pete Pigeon. We are learning how to become pirates and write a letter back to scare him away!
We looked at images of pirates to find out what their likes and dislikes are.
We thought of our own pirate names. We also decided on a name for our ship and wrote the introduction for our letters. We used the i-pads and a pirate translator to re-write this in pirate language.
We looked at pictures of different animals and tried to label as many features as we could. We spoke about what they use these features for.
We used different resources to explore odd and even numbers. We thought of different rules and patterns to help us identify odd and even numbers.
We were inspired by the story of The Snail and The Whale and decided to go on an adventure. We took magnifying glasses and snacks with us!
Over the autumn term we listened to some fantastic and varied music through our seasonal ‘music focus’
Our Christmas music assembly was a great way to end the term and link what we had been listening to, with a wide variety of music performed by classes across the school.
Many people were also delighted to receive the school cd ‘the voices of Brockswood’ featuring many solos and a wonderful cover designed by Arron in Rowan class. There’s still time to order a copy from the office should you wish to.
We can’t wait to hear all the wonderful music in the air this half term.
Thank you to everyone who worked to make our first Enterprise Week a great success. The children really enjoyed the experience and we’re hoping to repeat the event in the future.
What a wonderful way to kick off all the musical things that happen as we head into Christmas!
‘Shepherds Delight’ was a roaring success. Beech and Cherry class did a fantastic job with some exceptional solos by Mollie as shepherd Sam and Grace and Benjamin as Mary and Joseph. Our visitors LOVED it and Mrs Turner was very proud.
Now this wonderful backdrop will come down to make room for all the instruments that will fill the stage on Tuesday at our Christmas music assembly 🎶
