Beech class loved Maths Day!

We enjoyed exploring the story of Mr Wolf’s pancakes and helping him with all the maths. We worked out the cost of ingredients, counted the money, worked out the change and measured the pancake mixture. It was great fun…. and tasty!

We also enjoyed playing games in the hall with Miss Carter and teaming up with Willow class to learn how to play times table bingo 🙂

Beech class water art

Today we had fun creating underwater art using water colours and pens. We thought about how the light and colour changes from the deepest parts of the ocean to the shallowest. We also went a little off topic and researched the fascinating Mariana Trench, which then inspired our strange watery creatures (thank you Poppy!)

Walk to school week

Well done to all who joined us for walk to school week those who walked without us and those who made an extra effort to do a little more walking. Walking is great exercise for your bodies which can be done anytime and best of all it’s free. With the better weather coming let’s see if you walk a little more everyday! Special mention to Beech class and Miss Dimonico who joined us for most of the walks and had the most children from the class take part.

Beech class computing

Beech class have been working extremely hard this week completing their SATs and making digital stories using computers.

First we took pictures of the story  using the ipads, then we wrote the stories into word, editing the colours, font and size of the text to make it look more interesting for the reader.

Brockswood staff team win their first game v’s South Hill

Wow what a game ! Staff played so well against South Hill and won by 10 goals. The match started well … Mrs Kolesnik marking the opposition tightly and Mrs Wright keeping her opponent out of the circle so he could not score. Mrs Hughes was busy finding space around the court passing accurately into the shooting circle. Mrs Dalton was on a role scoring for the team. Miss Francis was marked tightly but that did not stop her from scoring the goals! Miss Lees used her fitness to keep the game moving using the free space to her advantage. Miss Conisbee marked her player so well she couldn’t get the ball. Sophie was knocked around the court but still managed to feed the ball in for the shooters! Mr Wyatt read the game intercepting the ball to gain possession. Mrs Voigt was an amazing umpire, keeping us all in check !! Well done to all the Brockswood Staff !!
