Brockswood Primary and Nursery School

Sports Premium

Since 2013, the Government has invested significantly in improving Physical Education (PE) in schools and enhancing pupils’ access to a wider range of sports. This funding is ring-fenced, meaning it must be used solely to support pupils’ progress and participation in PE and school sport.

Funding Allocation

For the 2024/2025 academic year, schools with 17 or more eligible pupils received £16,000 in Sports Premium funding.
Our Rationale for Using the Sports Premium
We are committed to ensuring the funding benefits all children, regardless of their sporting ability. Our focus areas include:
  • Increasing participation in competitive events
  • Supporting the development of skills across all staff
  • Promoting a healthy lifestyle for every child
  • Offering enriching opportunities through the Youth Sports Award – Gold Package

Measuring Impact

We assess the impact of our PE and sport initiatives through our regular self-evaluation processes, using:
  • Pupil data
  • Pupil voice
  • Parent feedback
These insights inform adjustments and improvements. Our key measures of success include:
  • Improved participation rates
  • A growing love of sport amongst pupils
  • Healthier, more active children
